Treasures from Ecuador
Crystal Cruises Port Stop - Guayaquil

Exploring entrepreneurs Lori and Andrew Schuster, while traveling off-the beaten track in Ecuador, brought about an unexpected immersion to the vibrant socio-cultural heritage of South America, and the discovery of an extraordinary fabric called, Alpaca. All products are hand woven on wooden looms using the same methods that have been practiced for hundreds of years.

Alpacas are a highly revered animal in South America dating back hundreds of years with ties to ancient traditions.  Yearly the animals are sheared like sheep for the warmer months giving them a breath of relief from the warmer temperature to come. The alpacas are never harmed and we only source material with highly respected producers of the fibers.  Alpaca fur is a naturally organic fiber requiring no mechanical or chemical processing.

This Seagrass colorway design has been specially curated for the Exclusively Crystal Collection.
